Roger Taylor has been providing professional fly fishing guidance in the Southern Lakes, Otago and Southland regions since 1974. He specialises in wilderness, high country streams and small alpine lakes (with access through Cecil Peak and Closeburn Stations). Sight fishing to wild rainbow and brown trout with small dry flies and nymphs in crystal clear freestone waters.
Roger is passionate about the high country and loves the beautiful valleys and spectacular mountains (many in excess of 7500 ft). Such areas are abound with historic interest, with the opportunity to see stands of native bush and a variety of birds and other wildlife in their natural environment. A dedicated runner, Roger has run many marathons and has trained on mountain trails in these remote areas. He strongly believes that being fit is crucial to going “the extra mile” to ensure his clients have a memorable high country fishing experience.
